Christ of the Unification or Cristo de Unidad in Merida.
Merida’s cathedral is a huge and imposing building in the center of the city. The inside, with it’s vaulted ceilings and grand columns, is not highly decorated but does feature a huge crucifix.

The Church of Jesus or Church of the Third Order of Jesus, just a block away from the Cathedral of San Ildefonso, is very different in style and feel from its imposing neighbor. This church was built in 1618 by the Jesuit order of the Catholic Church.  Fine stained glass windows, chandeliers and paintings adorn the interior.

Merida Places Of Interest Sightseeing Tours From Progreso (Also An Accessible Tour):

Mérida, capital of Yucatán, has retained much of its old colonial charm. For centuries a prosperous center for textiles with strong trade connections to Europe - particularly with France - the city became known as "ciudad blanca," or the "white city," for the white garments worn by the townsfolk, a tradition that continues today. Founded in 1542 by the conquistadors, Mérida is laid out with its streets running at right angles to one another, making it much easier to navigate compared to most other Mexican towns. Thanks to its warm, humid climate and numerous attractive parks and flower gardens, it is a leisurely alternative to the country's much busier cities
